Seville Provincial Council presented the province’s tourism offering for the autumn and winter season at Casa Capell on Thursday, 8 November, combining a magnificent cultural and leisure programme with an unbeatable climate. In this context, Seville seeks to highlight the richness and value of a province that occupies a fundamental place in the history of the Iberian Peninsula. Its architectural and artistic beauty is complemented by the charm of its towns and countryside, creating a tourism offering with a range of routes that allow visitors to discover its cuisine, such as the “Rice Route” and the “Olive Oil Route”, as well as the Hunting and Mushroom routes, which reveal the secrets of the Sierra Norte. All this without overlooking the growing wine market, which, thanks to the quality of its wines and liqueurs, is generating a new wine tourism offering featuring visits to wineries and distilleries. Another product presented was “Birding Sevilla” www.birdingsevilla.com, an initiative bringing together the various hiking routes and birdwatching expeditions through the province’s towns, mountains and rivers. Seville was thus presented as a leading destination for culturally motivated tourism, and Huelva as a destination for beach and nature tourism. On the afternoon of 8 November, a workshop was also organised with industry professionals, with the aim of bringing these attractions to the entire Catalan public, one of Seville’s largest tourist source markets, surpassed only by Andalusia itself and the Community of Madrid. The event concluded with a cocktail reception at which participants were able to sample the most representative dishes of Sevillian cuisine.
